Anyone planning to sleep here will be disappointed: zero campsites exist, and you'll need to book Tobyhanna State Park 10 miles away instead. The vault toilets draw strong complaints, and summer lake weeds foul the boat launch.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall is the standout season. Daytime highs run 50–70°F with nights near freezing by late October, and mid-October foliage draws hikers, photographers, and paddlers. Weekdays are quieter than weekends during peak color. Cooler temperatures reduce bugs and make multi-mile hikes and mountain biking more pleasant than summer. Fish feed actively ahead of winter, improving fishing. Summer brings warm days for lake activities, though vegetation can accumulate near the boat launch.

The amenities at Gouldsboro State Park cater to a variety of recreational activities, although some facilities are limited. Officially, within the facility, amenities include a boat launch, boat rental, fishing areas, grills, hiking trails, hunting areas, interpretive walks, parking spaces, picnic tables with nearby charcoal grills, public boat launch, restrooms, a pavilion, and a sanded lake designated for swimming. Additionally, there is a new handicap-accessible fishing pier. However, there are notable complaints about the primitive bathrooms at the park. As one user described, 'you will want to wear an industrial-grade gas mask for when you use the park’s primitive bathroom.' There are no camping facilities on-site.
