Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, beach-ready weather and the fullest range of activities — swimming, boating, evening campfires, and long daylight hours ideal for exploring the dunes and harbor viewpoints under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Expect daytime highs typically in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F (24–29°C) with cooler nights in the 60s°F (15–20°C); humid summer days are common but maritime breezes off the harbor often moderate heat. Weekends are the busiest — book ahead for Friday–Sunday nights — as Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: January, February
Prime season for swimming, beaches and ranger programs; warm temps and harbor breezes.
