<p>Campground is situated in a beautiful Ponderosa Pine forest. Located in Lower Paliza Canyon, come prepared for warm days and cool nights.</p><p><strong>Uses: </strong>Group<strong> </strong>camping and hiking.</p><p><strong>Facilities:</strong> Two group sites, and campsites with tables, grills, and campfire rings.</p><p><strong>Group Site 1:</strong> Owl Loop Drive-In Sites accommodates 100 people.</p><p><strong>Group Site 2:</strong> Red Tail Loop Walk-In Sites accommodates 35 people. Vault toilets;station available. No drinking water available.</p><p><strong>Special Instructions: </strong>Group campground is by reservation only. This campground is designated as a reduced impact and recycling campground. Users are encouraged to pack out trash and leave the campground clean for others. Fall delivers the most reliable combination of mild daytime temperatures, dramatic canyon foliage, and thinner crowds — ideal for hiking, photography, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Expect crisp days in the 50s–70s °F and cool nights dropping into the 20s–40s °F, making early morning and late-afternoon light perfect for canyon views and aspens turning gold. Fire danger typically eases and insect activity falls off, but be aware of local hunting seasons and wear blaze orange when venturing into a Peak months: September, October, June, July Avoid: November, December, January, February
