<p>The Redondo Campground is situated in a stand of Ponderosa Pine interspersed with grass and wildflower meadows within the Jemez National Recreation Area. The campground is approximately 8,200 feet in elevation and you can plan for warm days and cool nights. The Valles Caldera and Bandelier National Monument are within driving distance, both are accessed via the Jemez Mountains Trail National Scenic Byway (NM State Highway 4).</p><p><strong>Uses: </strong>Overnight camping, hiking and fishing</p><p><strong>Facilities: </strong>Campground has 62 camp sites; each with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are available; there are not utility hookups or dump station available. Tents, RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. Drinking water not available at this campground.</p><p><strong>Special Instructions:</strong> Cutting live vegetation is prohibited. Use charcoal only in the pedestal grills.</p>

Redondo Campground is one of five developed campgrounds in the Jemez National Recreation Area on the Jemez Ranger District. There are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the Jemez National Recreation Area, from scenic driving to fishing accesses and day-use picnic areas. Redondo Campground is a brief drive from the San Diego Overlook scenic site, and within a short drive from access points to Trail 137.

It is also near the Valles Caldera National Preserve, Bandelier National Monument, Dome and Bandlier Wilderness Areas, the town of Los Alamos, and a two-hour drive to Santa Fe.

Summer delivers the most reliable warm weather and longest daylight for exploring the Jemez volcanic landscape — expect daytime highs around 65–80°F and crisp nights in the mid-30s to low-50s°F. Trails, Valles Caldera and Bandelier day trips, and high-elevation fishing are at their best; wildflower displays linger from late spring into early summer and campsites are pleasantly shaded by Ponderosa pines. Weekends can be moderately busy (local and weekend traffic from Los Alamos/Santa Fe), and be準 Peak months: July, August, June, September
