Fall offers the most comfortable, stable weather for exploring the Organ Mountains — expect daytime highs generally in the mid-50s to upper-70s °F (50–80°F) with cool nights (30–50°F). Monsoon storms have ended and spring winds have calmed, so trails are dry and visibility is excellent for long views across the Tularosa Basin and White Sands.
