Fall offers the best combination of mild weather, dramatic color, and lower crowds — daytime highs typically range from the mid-40s to low-60s °F (7–16 °C) with crisp, often-freezing nights. Trails and forested slopes light up with golden larches and cottonwoods in late September through October, making hiking, wildlife viewing and photography excellent. Savenac West Cottage offers modern facilities including a well-equipped kitchen, electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, assorted cooking utensils, and dishes. The facility provides running hot and cold water, flush toilets, and a shower. Guests must bring their own bedding and toiletries, and are required to clean the facility before departure, with cleaning supplies provided. Hosts conduct inspections before checkout.
