Best season: fall. Fall delivers the most rewarding combination of stable weather, dramatic color, and wildlife activity — expect crisp days and golden forests as temperatures trend from roughly 50–65°F by day to chilly 25–40°F at night in September–October. Hiking, wildlife viewing (elk/deer rut and bird migration), and trout fishing on Wolf Creek are at their peak, and the light is excellent for photography. Crowds are generally moderate — busier on weekends and during early-season hunting dates — but far less,s Peak months: September, October, August, June
Fall is highlighted as best: crisp days, elk rut, golding forest and excellent photography light.
