Anglers and hikers who want a quiet base camp at a fair price will do well here. Weekdays in July or August keep the 15 sites from filling up, and creek-adjacent spots are the ones to claim first.
Horseflies and mosquitoes are relentless all summer, the access road is rough enough to rattle a low-clearance rig, and there are no showers, hookups, or swimming. First-come-first-served with no backup plan if it's full.

Beaverdam Campground and Picnic Area is located in the Fleecer Mountain Range, approximately 17 miles south of Butte, west of Interstate 15. The campground has 15 units that will accommodate trailers up to 50 feet. There are five pull-through sites with the remaining designed as back-in sites. Tent pads are available at most sites. Wood is generally able to be found within the campground area. The campground is located along Divide Creek providing opportunities for fishing and is also in close proximity to trails. Motorized trail opportunities include access to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail along with other loop trails.

The elevation is 6,500 ft. The campground has two unnamed sections separated by a large wooded picnic area. Interesting features of the campground are the enormous piles of huge boulders on one side and a meandering creek hidden by thick scrub willows. Although not seen, the flowing water can be heard from some campsites. A harvest of hazard trees has given most campsites lots of sun and nice views of the surrounding mountains. The campground has a shaggy, unkept, wilderness appearance. Mature Lodgepole pines provide what shade there is to campsites. Scattered aspen suggest some nice fall color. With a grass and wildflower understory, it is separation between sites, not vegetation, that provides good privacy. Overall, a very peaceful setting.
Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
The water spigot is a hand pump.
The parking aprons are gravel and grass. Some aprons are over-grown.
From Butte, MT, at the intersection of Interstates 15S/90W and Harrison Ave, take I-15 south for 17.2 miles to Exit 111 (Feeley). Summer brings daytime temps in the 70s-90s with nights dropping to the 40s-50s. The season runs Memorial Day to Labor Day when trail access and fishing are best. Mosquitoes and horseflies are thick in summer, so bring repellent. Early and late season can mean muddy roads and snow patches. Weekdays are quieter than holiday weekends at this small campground.
Open Memorial Day–Labor Day; best for trails and fishing though mosquitoes/horseflies are common.
