Best season: spring. Late spring (mid-May through June) is the best time to visit because temperatures are mild (daytime highs commonly 65–80°F, nights in the 50s) and the Black River and Webb Creek are clear and full, making fishing, boating, and early-season swimming excellent. Trails and wildlife are active with wildflowers and migratory birds, yet crowds are still lighter than peak July weekends. You’ll have the best combination of comfortable weather, full water levels, and easier campsite availability. Peak months: June, May, July, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Peak season with full lake activities; several maintenance and cleanliness complaints appear in summer reviews.
