Go if

Fall foliage chasers who want a roof over their heads during peak color (late September through early October) will get the most out of this place. Hallaway Hill overlooks and 20 miles of leaf-strewn trails are walkable from the cabins, and showers plus the sandy South Lake Lida

Skip if

No pets allowed, full stop. Also, cell coverage is genuinely unreliable throughout the park, so remote workers or anyone who needs a signal should plan accordingly. Peak fall weekends book fast and get crowded; grab a reservation online (up to 120 days out) or expect to miss out.
