Go if

Riders who want trail access without the full main-campground crowd will find fall the sweet spot here: cool temps, vivid ridge views, and quieter evenings around the fire. Grab sites closer to the water when the reservation opens online.

Skip if

No horse, no entry. Beyond that, close site spacing means neighbors are always audible, vault toilet upkeep has been hit-or-miss in reviews, and no cell service makes last-minute logistics harder if something goes wrong with your trailer or animal.
