Summer brings the warmest conditions, with daytime highs typically 70–85°F and nights in the 50s–60s. The sandy beach, swimming area, and evening naturalist programs draw the biggest crowds in July, so reserve early for peak weekends. Spring and early summer offer cooler temperatures and wildflower displays along the bog boardwalk, including orchids and carnivorous plants in bloom. Fall delivers colorful foliage and quieter trails, especially striking when tamaracks turn gold around Big Bog Lake. Winter sees groomed cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing, and ice fishing, making this a true year-round park. Wetland areas mean mosquitoes are typical in summer, particularly near the bog and beaver ponds.
Summer highs 70–85°F; beach, swimming and programs peak in July making summer the top season.
