Go if

Paddlers and anglers who want a quiet lake with dock and boat ramp access, minimal neighbors, and a boardwalk through an actual sphagnum bog. Fall is the sweet spot: cooler temps, fewer insects, and the forest color adds to the scenery.

Skip if

Heavy bug seasons (peak summer) bring severe mosquitoes and black flies that repellent alone won't handle. No pets allowed, no hookups, and the narrow access roads make large RVs a real gamble.
