Anglers targeting fall salmon or spring steelhead will find the river right outside their tent. Pack all your supplies, arrive Thursday or Friday to beat weekend crowds at these seven sites, and bring a tent or small trailer only.
The rough access road, a sometimes-rough vault toilet, and a stiff hand pump are the whole amenity package. Anyone needing hookups, cell signal, or a guaranteed site will leave frustrated.

Fall combines peak salmon runs with crisp, comfortable weather and brilliant hardwood color. Daytime highs roughly 45–60°F, with nights often dropping into the 30s and 40s. Ideal for bank anglers and paddlers who want cool water and active fish. Summer brings warmth and greenery but also significant mosquitoes and biting insects. Winter roads remain unplowed and can become impassable after snowfall, making this a warm-season destination for most campers.
