Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather for trail riding and group camping — expect daytime highs around 70–85°F and cool nights in the 50s–60s. Trails on the Shore-to-Shore system are fully dry and rideable, water for livestock is more accessible, and wildlife viewing is active in early morning/late evening. Weekends are the busiest as riding groups book the reservable group site (reservations open June 21), so plan midweek visits for quieter conditions. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
