Summer offers the most comfortable weather and full access to Last Chance Campground (site season June 1–Sept 15), with warm daytime highs around 75–85°F and cool nights near 50–55°F—ideal for hiking, fishing Goose Creek, and evening campfires. Trails and creek fishing are at their best, wildflowers and green forest cover are lush, and wildlife viewing is reliable in early morning and dusk. Expect moderate crowds on summer weekends (23 sites fill quickly), and be prepared for summer wildfire and Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January

At Last Chance Campground, there are 20 single sites and 3 double sites, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Drinking water is available through a hand pump and an artesian well. There are vault toilets on-site, but no trash receptacles, requiring visitors to pack out their trash. Notably, the campground does not offer hookups for electricity, water, or sewer.
