Best season: fall. Late summer into early fall (especially late September) offers the best combination of mild days (around 50–70°F) and crisp nights (30–40°F), low crowds, and peak wildlife activity as deer and other animals become more active before winter. The recovering Ponderosa and burn-scar mosaic provide dramatic photographic contrasts and quiet trails for hiking and biking, while fishing on the Crooked River remains excellent as water temperatures cool. Campground is still open through Sept 29, so you get Peak months: September, August, July, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Late summer into early fall is noted as best; cooler days, improved fishing, more wildlife activity.
