Best season: winter. Winter offers the most comfortable camping conditions at Mill Dam — crisp mornings in the 40s–50s that warm into the mid-60s, low humidity, and fewer mosquitoes, making it ideal for large group gatherings. Group camping is available in late fall and winter, so you can reserve the entire site for reunions, scout retreats, or celebrations and enjoy prime paddling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and clear night skies. Expect light to moderate crowds on weekends but plenty of space for groups on weekday Peak months: January, February, March, December Avoid: June, July, August, September

No electricity, water or sewer site hookups. There are no showering facilities. Amenities include a picnic shelter, group grills, picnic tables and flush toilets. The parking lot can hold up to 70 vehicles. A boat ramp adjoins the recreation area, on a separate entrance.
