About Koreshan State Park Loop Middle

Koreshan State Park preserves a 19th-century utopian settlement along the Estero River, and the Loop MIDDLE campground offers 60 sites with electric and water hookups among bamboo groves and historic gardens. Twelve tent-only sites sit next to the river, separated from RV loops. Fees range from $5 to $180 per night. The campground is temporarily closed effective July 7, 2025. Check with the park for reopening details.

Koreshan State Park historically offers 60 campsites (all with electricity and water), 12 tent-only sites next to the Estero River, four paved ADA campsites, and deluxe safari glamping tents available through Timberline Glamping. Note: the campground is currently closed effective July 7, 2025.

Historical Significance

The park preserves the Koreshan Unity Settlement, a utopian religious community founded by Cyrus Teed in the late 1800s. Teed promoted a hollow Earth theory and the settlement grew to include houses, a machine shop, and gardens that visitors can still tour. A 1929 Fairbanks-Morse engine sits in the industrial area. Guided tours run year-round and interpret daily life, the community's innovations, and the philosophy that brought settlers here. Original buildings and plaques explain how the colony functioned before it dissolved in the early 1900s.
