Wildlife activity peaks as migratory birds arrive and manatees move through the river. Cooler months are more comfortable for exploring trails and the historic settlement. June heat is intense with full sun exposure on open trails. Off-season draws quieter crowds of older couples and retirees. Avoid peak family vacation weeks if you want silence.
