Best season: spring. Spring offers the most comfortable weather and the best access to lakeside activities — expect daytime highs roughly 60–80°F and cool nights in the 40s–50s. Wildflowers and oak foothill green-up make the scenery especially attractive, and boating, fishing, and shoreline walks are at their peak before summer heat and crowds arrive. Weekdays are quiet while weekends pick up as the season progresses, so plan midweek visits for the most solitude. Peak months: April, May, March, October Avoid: July, August
Spring is repeatedly called the best time: green hills, wildflowers, comfortable temps and praised views.
