Large trailers or fifth-wheels won't make it down narrow Quimby Road. Verizon and AT&T users should expect dead zones across most of the park, sites get no shade, and the hard gopher-hole ground makes tent staking a chore.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Spring is the best time to visit. Daytime highs run 55–75°F, mornings drop into the 40s–50s°F, and the grasslands fill with wildflowers. Trails stay in good condition for hiking and mountain biking. Wildlife is most active at dawn and dusk. Winter lows drop to the mid-40s°F, summer highs reach the mid-80s°F. Warm-weather hikers need long pants and boots. Rattlesnakes move through the exposed terrain when temperatures rise.
Peak season begins Mar 1; comfortable temps and good hiking make spring excellent.
