Spring brings the best conditions: daytime highs in the mid-50s to mid-70s°F, cool nights in the 40s, and creeks running full. Wildflowers cover the meadows and ridgelines turn green. It's prime time for hiking and wildlife viewing, with moderate crowds except on weekends. Summer heats up to the 90s before dropping to the 40s at night. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Campground offers many amenities for a comfortable camping experience. There are 47 family-sized campsites and a group campsite accommodating up to 50 people. Each site features picnic tables and fire rings. Flush toilets and potable water are accessible nearby, while firewood is sold within the park. Visitors can enjoy clean showers and trash/recycling facilities. Accessibility features include accessible campsites (#6, #7, and #12) with accessible restrooms and showers. The campground is nestled beside Sonoma Creek, near hiking trails and the Robert Ferguson Observatory.
