Best season: fall. Fall offers the most comfortable weather and the clearest skies for exploring the granite spires — daytime highs typically range from the mid‑60s to mid‑70s°F (around 18–24°C) with crisp nights in the 40s°F (4–9°C). This is prime time for hiking, photography, wildlife viewing and enjoying the dramatic light on the Dragoon Mountains, with far fewer monsoon storms and lower summer heat. Crowd levels are moderate — popular with weekenders and photographers but much quieter than lower‑elevation Son‑ Peak months: October, November, April, March Avoid: July, August
Explicitly cited as best season: comfortable temps and clear skies for exploring granite spires.
