No shade on the Full Hookup Loop makes summer genuinely brutal here. Pets aren't allowed, and you're hauling in all your food, water, and fuel from town.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall offers the most comfortable desert conditions. Daytime highs typically range from the mid-60s to mid-80s°F (cooling from September into November) with crisp nights in the 40s–50s°F, making hiking, fishing, and boating more pleasant than summer. Water-based activities and wildlife viewing peak as temperatures drop and the lake calms, while crowds stay moderate. Lower than peak winter holiday weekends. Fall also avoids the intense summer heat and monsoon hazards. Spring is also attractive, particularly after rains when wildflowers bloom and bird activity increases. Winter and early spring bring cooler temperatures favored by most campers and anglers. Summer can be extremely hot in this low desert environment, and the mostly unshaded Full Hookup Loop offers little relief. Visitors report that wind can pick up across the open lake basin, so secure tents, awnings, and outdoor gear.
Peak season with warm days. Most facilities open. Reserve ahead.
