Overflow Campground offers seven air-conditioned cabins on the southeast shore of Patagonia Lake at 4,075 feet elevation. Each cabin comes furnished with electric hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables, positioned steps from the lake and shower facilities. Nightly rates run $129.
Park offers developed RV and tent campsites (105 developed sites), two non-electric sites, 12 boat-in campsites, and on-site cabins (seven two- to three-room cabins).
Weather and SeasonsSpring delivers the sweet spot: daytime temps between 65 and 80°F, cool nights in the 40s and 50s, wildflowers blooming, and migrating birds passing through. Trails stay green from winter moisture, and the lake is comfortable for boating without summer's intensity. Expect weekend crowds to pick up in March and April. The park operates year-round. Winter offers mild-weather camping, while summer heats up but keeps the lake inviting.
Natural Features and SceneryThe lake sits against rolling Southern Arizona foothills in the Sky Island region, where blue water meets desert landscape. Birders find the shoreline especially productive, with trails winding through varied terrain that attracts both migrating species and resident wildlife. The setting shifts throughout the day as light moves across the hills and water. Dogs can access the creek and portions of the lake, though the beach itself is off-limits to pets.
