Lake Ouachita, AR is located on the Ouachita River near the resort spa of Hot Springs. Its crystal-clear waters make the lake a popular site for scuba diving. There are numerous camping, fishing and swimming opportunities at the lake as well as concessions with marinas, motels, restaurants and horseback riding. There is a boating trail for viewing geological formations on the shoreline.

Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of mild weather, dramatic Ouachita Mountain foliage, and lower crowds — ideal for hiking the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail and shoreline photography. Daytime temperatures are typically in the mid-50s to mid-70s°F with crisp mornings in the 35–50°F range, making long hikes and fishing from shore or boat very comfortable. Water temperatures are cooling but boating and bass fishing remain excellent, and campsite demand is lighter after Labor Day (note weekend hunting in Peak months: October, September, November, May Avoid: January, February, March, April

Stephens Park is a small and quiet campground located along the shoreline of Lake Hamilton, just below Blakely Dam. It features nine large Class A sites with full hookups, including sewer, water, and 50-amp connections. Amenities include a shower house, playground, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground provides good shade due to mature trees, and campers can enjoy access to nearby boat ramps for Lake Ouachita and Lake Hamilton.
