Best season: summer. Summer offers the best blend of warm water access, long daylight hours, and peak boating and fishing on the Little River — expect daytime highs around 88–95°F with overnight lows in the mid-60s to low 70s. The river is at its most inviting for swimming, kayaking, and launching small boats, and the chalk cliffs and woodlands are dramatic in golden evening light. Weekends are busier, but with only 25 paved, serviced sites the campground still feels intimate; be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms Peak months: June, July, August, May
Summer is peak season: warm river for swimming, long days, good fishing and wildlife sightings.
