Only two platforms exist, and there's no way to reserve them, so driving 14 miles from Wrangell with a full pack to find both sites taken is a real possibility on summer weekends when local boaters are active.

Located on the west shore of Wrangell Island, Turn Island Beach Campsite includes two tent platforms for camping and picnicking with a shared outhouse facility. The site is on saltwater, and can be accessed either by boat or on foot via the Nemo Saltwater Access Trail on Wrangell Island.

Summer delivers the best conditions: highs around 55–65°F and lows in the mid-40s°F, with the longest daylight for kayaking, tidepooling, and wildlife viewing. Marine life peaks during these months, and sea conditions stay calm to moderate. Expect moderate weekend activity from local boaters. Winter brings snow, plunging temperatures, and challenging conditions for experienced campers only. Pacific storms sweep through year-round with wind and rain.

Turn Island Beach Campsite provides basic amenities. The campground features two tent platforms and a shared outhouse facility. However, there is no potable water available on-site, requiring campers to bring their own water. Access to the site is via either boat or a 0.5-mile trail from the Nemo Saltwater Access Trailhead.
