The campground is decommissioned right now. Beyond the closure, past visitors reported washed-out sites, deer carcasses, and Forest Service maintenance that hadn't kept up. No potable water on-site adds to the roughing-it reality.

<p>*** This site is closed until further notice due to erosion and the need for public safety ***</p><p> </p><p>Seven shady campsites are nestled at the base of the Salt River Range right along the musical Swift Creek just outside Afton, Wyoming. A single faucet is available at site 1, and an accessible toilet is provided in the center of the campground. Large picnic tables welcome family groups for meals.</p>

Summer brings mid-60s to mid-70s°F days and nights in the 30s–40s°F, making it the best season for fly-fishing, hiking, and creekside camping. Sites can fill quickly on summer weekends. Winter temperatures drop to the upper 20s–low 30s°F with snow blanketing the area. The forest provides natural cooling even on warmer days.
