Best season: fall. Fall offers the campground’s most striking scenery — mid-October typically brings peak hardwood color with crisp days (45–60°F) and chilly nights (25–40°F), making ridge walks and riverside photography outstanding. Trails are comfortable for full-day hikes and the Williams River and Tea Creek remain productive for fishing as water temps cool. Expect moderate weekend crowds at peak foliage but quieter weekdays, and remember to wear blaze orange if visiting during November hunting dates. Peak months: October, September, June, May Avoid: January, February
Mid-October peak hardwood color; reviewers highlight late October as best time for fall colors.
Tea Creek Campground is a spacious 28-site campground located at the intersection of the Williams River and Tea Creek. Each campsite is equipped with a parking spur, picnic table, fire ring with a grill, waste receptacle, and a lantern hookup. Visitors are encouraged to use the three bear-proof trash cages located throughout the campground. There are vault-style toilets that are generally well-maintained and stocked with toilet paper. There are manual water pumps throughout the campground that provide fresh creek water, though some reviews noted that only one water pump was operational at the time of their visit.
