Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable weather and vivid autumn foliage — daytime highs are typically in the 50s–70s°F (10–21°C) with crisp, low-humidity air that makes hiking and photography especially pleasant. Leaf color usually peaks in mid-to-late October, trails are quieter than summer weekends, and the camp’s indoor theater/gym provides a dry backup for group programs. Expect moderate weekend crowds from leaf-peepers and organized groups, but overall it’s the most scenic and easy Peak months: October, September, May, April
Fall delivers best conditions, peak leaf color, photographers and comfortable temps are noted.
Cabin Camp 4 provides a unique camping experience with historic structures, including mostly 10-person sleeping cabins. These cabins feature new roofs and windows to preserve their historical significance. However, the camp lacks a fireplace in its dining hall, which is a unique aspect when compared to other camps in the park. The theater building/gymnasium adds an exclusive facility to the camp.
