Summer is the best time to visit Timpooneke for reliably warm, dry weather and full access to trails and campground facilities — expect daytime highs in the low to mid 80s°F and crisp nights in the low 50s°F. This is peak season for hiking the Mount Timpanogos trail, day trips, fishing in alpine streams, and family camping; afternoon thunderstorms are possible, but typically brief. Campsites are busiest in July and August, so reserve early (June 6–Sept 1 are reservable dates) or arrive early in Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: November, December, January, February

Timpooneke Campground is situated within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest at an elevation of 7,400 feet. Visitors enjoy access to both family and equestrian sites, equipped with picnic tables, utility tables, and campfire rings. Equestrian sites feature small horse corrals, and potable water is available during the peak season. Roads in the campground are paved, but parking spurs are gravel. Vault toilets are provided, and firewood is available for purchase. The area features dense stands of aspen, fir, and spruce trees, a stream, and a riparian area.
