Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, driest, and most accessible conditions for enjoying Little Redfish Lake — expect daytime highs around 65–80°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to 50°F. Non-motorized paddling, trout fishing, shoreline swimming (water temperatures often remain in the 50s–60s), and day hikes into the surrounding Sawtooth ridges are all at their peak. Because Mountain View has only six first-come, first-serve sites the small campground can fill quickly on weekends and holiday weeks, so plan Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
Summer is best: water activities, clear views and comfortable daytime temps (65–80°F).
The Mountain View Campground is a small and scenic location near Little Redfish Lake. It features six first-come, first-serve campsites, offering opportunities for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and proximity to hiking trails into the Sawtooth and White Clouds Wilderness areas. The nearby Redfish Lake Visitor Center offers educational programs, and photography of the stunning wilderness is popular.
