Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of cool, stable weather and superb trail conditions for hiking and mountain biking—daytime highs typically sit in the 55–75°F range with crisp nights around 30–45°F. Trails on the Iron Hills system are at their peak (dusty and fast but not baking-hot), and the red sandstone and sage-green pinyon-juniper contrast beautifully under low-angle light. Crowds are generally lower than summer weekends, though expect increased weekend use; also be aware of rifle hunting季s Peak months: October, September, May, April
Fall called best: 55–75°F days, cooler nights, trails fast/dry and fewer crowds.
