Natural Features and SceneryMature oak trees shade most of the campground, their canopies dropping right to the lake's edge at 463 feet elevation. White-tailed deer graze at dawn, squirrels work the branches overhead, and cottontail rabbits move through the underbrush. Coyotes call at dusk. Spring brings waves of Texas bluebonnets and paintbrush across the open areas between sites. The lake itself drives most of the activity here: fishing, swimming, boating. The shoreline alternates between shaded oak groves and sunny open stretches that work well for beach access.
