The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to J. Percy Priest Lake. The lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year. Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities from which to choose, including: fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and others. Because of the lake's proximity to Nashville (15 minutes from downtown) lakeside recreation can fit nicely into your other vacation plans.
From Nashville, 5 miles east on I-40 to Stewarts Ferry Pike exit, right on Stewarts Ferry Pike, left on Bell Rd.

Best season: summer. Summer offers warm, swim-friendly water temperatures and full access to boating, swimming, and lake fishing — prime reasons to visit J. Percy Priest Lake. Daytime highs in July and August commonly range from the mid-80s to low-90s°F with humid nights in the 60s–70s°F, making early-morning and late-afternoon outings ideal. All campground facilities and the boat ramp are open and staffed during summer, but expect higher crowds and to need reservations for weekend stays. Anderson Road Campground offers a variety of essential amenities designed to make the camping experience comfortable and convenient. The campground features 37 shady and spacious campsites with access to drinking water, a dump station, and a shower house. Each campsite is equipped with fire pits, picnic tables, and grills. A boat ramp is also available within the campground. A nearby Day Use area provides additional amenities such as a swimming beach, picnic tables, a shelter, and a playground. However, the Day Use area may be closed on weekends due to high visitor volume.
