Hyatt Reservoir and <A HREF="https://www.usbr.gov/projects/index.php?id=141">Hyatt Dam</a> are major features of the <A HREF="https://www.usbr.gov/projects/index.php?id=430">Rogue River Project</a>. Hyatt Reservoir is surrounded by the pine and fir forests of the Cascade Mountains and is near Ashland, Oregon. The reservoir is 880 water surface acres and has 6 miles of shoreline. Available species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and brook trout. Fishing season runs from late April through October.

Summer offers the best combination of full services, reliable lake recreation, and clear mountain views — warm days for boating, swimming, and fishing with cool evenings for campfires. Expect daytime highs around 65–80°F and nighttime lows in the 40s–50s at 5,200 ft, with long daylight and generally dry weather. All facilities (hot showers, flush toilets, boat launches, playground) are open and trails are fully accessible, though holiday weekends (July/August, around Labor Day) can be busy and a Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January

Hyatt Lake Recreation Area offers an extensive range of amenities to ensure a comfortable camping experience, though some features may be seasonal. The main campground has 44 campsites spread across loops A, B, and C, with features such as flush toilets, showers, and a playground. Two boat ramps with dock facilities are available. There is an RV dump station on-site. Potable water is available at hand pumps. Firewood is not sold on-site, so campers should plan accordingly. Group facilities such as the Mountain View Group Shelter and Osprey Kitchen offer additional amenities for larger gatherings. Wildcat Campground offers a more primitive experience with vault toilets and a well hand pump. Equestrian campsites have corrals and direct trail access to the Pacific Crest Trail.
