Nestled along the peaceful banks of the Maumee River, Mary Jane Thurston Campground welcomes you with a thoughtful mix of camping options—from tent sites to electric hookups with water service. This cozy riverside retreat keeps things simple with clean restrooms, convenient dump and fill stations near the park office, and a pet-friendly atmosphere at every site.
Small campground offering both non-electric and electric sites. 16 sites are designated for tent camping. 23 electric sites provide 30-amp service; 4 premium sites have electric and water hookups.
Weather and SeasonsFall is the standout season. Daytime highs in the 50s and 60s, nights in the 30s and 40s, and the foliage peaks mid-to-late October. Cooler mornings make riverside sunrises and campfire evenings more pleasant, and crowds thin after Labor Day so last-minute reservations get easier. Spring sees the campground's main weakness: flooding risk on riverfront sites during wet periods. The park may offer refunds or rescheduling if conditions get bad.
Natural Features and SceneryWake up to the gentle sounds of the Maumee River flowing through this intimate 105-acre state park. The campground's riverfront location puts you right where the action is—cast a line into the stream, explore the surrounding woodlands, or simply relax by the water and watch the river work its magic. It's the kind of small park where you can truly disconnect and soak in the natural beauty of Ohio's waterways.
