At the Corps' Charles Mill Lake, extensive recreation facilities are operated by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. A 1600 seat amphitheater will be open presenting an outdoor drama about Johnny Appleseed. Other facilities include a library and a research facility.
Charles Mill Lake is located on the Black Fork on the Mohican River. The dam is located approximately 3 miles East of I-71. At I-71, take US 30 East almost 1 mile to State Route 603. Then take State Route 603 South about 2 miles to the dam.

While the cozy cabins welcome guests through every season—from snowy winter getaways to golden autumn weekends—the full campground experience varies with the calendar. The marina takes its winter rest from November 2, 2025 through April 30, 2026, and the camp store operates seasonally to serve summer adventurers. Please note that campground improvements are currently underway, with renovations expected to wrap up in early summer 2026, creating an even better experience for future visits.
