Campers who want to roll out of the tent and onto the waterfront will be disappointed. The beach is a real walk from the loops, some sites have no shade, and RV campers without a long water hose will struggle at the shared spigots.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Summer is the main season here. Daytime highs typically run 75–85°F, with lake temperatures reaching the upper 60s to mid-70s°F by midsummer. Long days make for good swimming, boating, and evening vineyard runs. July and August weekends get busy. Book campsites and boat launch slots ahead if you're coming then. Spring and fall bring cooler, more comfortable hiking weather. Winter camping is possible but quiet, with snow blanketing the campground and cold winds off the lake. The park stays open year-round for winter activities, though most visitors come May through September.
Peak season: lifeguarded swimming, boating, warm lake temps and long days make summer the main draw.
