River Campground sits below Rye Patch Dam at the edge of an 11,000-acre reservoir, shaded by mature trees that are rare in Nevada's high desert. The campground has 25 sites, most large enough for big rigs, with three electric hookups in a separate gravel lot. It's first-come, first-served, though that may shift to reservations. You can walk to the water and drive a few minutes to the boat ramp.

Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies a strip of shoreline directly below the dam, where the reservoir stretches 22 miles when full and provides 72 miles of shoreline for exploring.
