Tent campers who haul their own water and want genuine solitude in open meadow-forest terrain at elevation. Summer is the sweet spot, with wildflowers in late June and cool nights, and only three sites means you'll likely have the place to yourself.
The access road is long and genuinely rough, and that's not going to change until 2026 at the earliest. No potable water, no hookups, and first-come-first-served means a 55-mile drive from Reserve with no guarantee of a site.

At 8,000 feet, temperatures can drop fast even on summer evenings.
