Best season: summer. Summer offers the easiest access and the warmest, most reliable weather for this low-capacity, back-to-basics site — expect daytime highs around 65–85°F (18–29°C) and cool nights in the 40s–50s °F (4–12°C). Wildlife viewing and exploring the fire-scarred, regenerating forest are at their peak in early morning and evening, and all three secluded sites are usable without snow or muddy roads.
