Go if

Riders who want a quiet summer base with actual varied terrain: the horse loops cover wildflower meadows, hardwood shade, and prairie stretches before linking to the Shooting Star paved trail. Electric hookups available, and reviewers consistently call the hosts attentive.

Skip if

Anyone planning to swim will be disappointed: multiple reviewers flag the lake as shallow and silty. No potable water or flush toilets at the equestrian sites, and mosquitoes get bad in warm months, so pack accordingly or choose a different destination.
