Go if

Anglers and swimmers who can arrive mid-week: site 13 sits closest to the sand beach, and the lake holds Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass, and Perch. Bring all your supplies and filtered water bottles since hand-pump water runs silty and the nearest town is 8 miles out.

Skip if

No showers, no hookups, no dump station, and no reservations means showing up on a summer Friday and hoping something's open. Mosquitoes are persistent enough that reviewers call them out specifically, and the tight gravel loop can be rough on larger rigs.
