No showers, vault toilets only, no dump station, and dead cell service on most carriers. RVers expecting hookups or anyone who needs connectivity will be miserable here, and bug spray is non-negotiable in July and August.

Summer offers the warmest, most dependable conditions for hiking, swimming, and shoreline viewing. Daytime highs typically reach the mid-60s to mid-70s°F, with cool nights in the 40s–50s°F. Trails, waterfalls, and the walk-in Lake Superior overlook sites are fully accessible and at their most scenic. Lake water stays cold year-round, so bring layers. Camps fill on weekends in July and August. Plan weekday visits or reserve early for waterfront or walk-in sites. After rain, trails turn muddy and rocks along the river become slick. Lake Superior sends cool winds through camp even on warm days, and bugs (flies and gnats) can be bothersome in warm months.
Summer noted as best for hiking, swimming and dependable weather.
