No potable water on-site is a genuine logistical problem for longer stays, not a minor inconvenience. Sporadic cell service and vault toilets only compound it. If you need hookups, showers, or a signal, Baldwin has other options nearby.

The river bottom is mostly gravel and is a very good area for brown trout. The path to the river borders posted private land on one side before reaching the stairs to the river. The stairs to the river are steep, and will be a workout for those who make the attempt. The pine and oak forest is a good area for wildlife watching and visitors may see a deer or two while heading to the river.

Brochure with Map: This brochure is set to print on 11 x 17 paper, landscape (wide) orientation. Summer delivers the best camping conditions, with daytime highs in the mid-70s to low-80s and nighttime lows in the 50s. Water levels stay suitable for wading and brown trout fishing. The forest canopy provides shade for tent sites. Peak holiday weekends see moderate crowds, but the campground stays relatively quiet otherwise.
Summer cited as best season: pleasant temps, reliable fishing and wildlife viewing.
