Warren Island Campground

Warren Island State Park is a 70-acre spruce-covered island in Penobscot Bay, in the town of Islesboro, about a half-mile off Islesboro and roughly three miles offshore from Lincolnville on the mainland. It is accessible only by boat: there is no public ferry, so visitors must use their own boat and arrive at a pier on the eastern shore (limited first-come moorings available for a fee). It was the first Maine state park developed specifically for boaters. The island has 12 campsites and three Adirondack (open-faced) shelters. There is no electricity; facilities are primitive, with privy toilets, drinking water, fire pits and grills, a picnic area, and courtesy carts for hauling gear. Activities include camping, sea kayaking, hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching.
