Summer is the practical season here. July and August bring daytime temperatures between 65 and 85°F, with nights dropping to 35-50°F. Wildflowers peak in July and early August. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and fire restrictions sometimes close trails or limit campfires. Winter access is difficult, with snow covering the area from late fall through spring.
