Fall offers the most comfortable weather and the quietest campsites. Daytime highs generally sit in the 60s–70s°F with crisp nights dropping into the 30s–40s°F, making for perfect hiking, biking, and shoreline fishing conditions. Summer blazes past 90°F, which makes the reservoir swim beach popular but also crowded. Winter brings frost and occasional snow. Spring and fall see fewer crowds and moderate temperatures, though you'll want to reserve in advance even during shoulder seasons.

Highline Lake State Park offers a broad range of amenities designed to enhance the camping experience. Although there are no electrical hookups, the park provides ADA-accessible features, a boat ramp, hiking and biking trails, and a playground.
